  1. Good morning:
Your activity is great to improve the listening skills for students, because the words are not too difficult. But I think, you should introduce some of vocabulary at first to try to help students, because pupils can feel insecure at the beginning. You could show them some specific vocabulary with flashcards, do a brainstorming about Ancient Rome to remember some concepts…
Finally, you could tell them to do a mural or ask them about some aspects of the listening.
    Regards.

  2. Hi MªAngeles! In my opinion this activity can be used to be included as a part of a lesson about Past Simple Tense. After have been studying the rules of this tense, the students can improve their listenings skills recognising the past of some verbs. I think the listening is clear and it has the correct velocity for this level.
    Regards.

  3. Hi Mª Ángeles! First of all, congratulations for your blog. I think learning about ancient Rome’s topic is really interesting, and you work all kind of skills properly. Regarding this listening comprehension entry, I want to congratulate you once again because I think it’s an exemplary exercise. The text is really suitable for that learning level and its structure is also correct. Besides, one of the things I liked the most is that you offer the possibility to download the audio file, so students can keep it in their computers and listen to it whenever they want. For example, if this blog activity would go on in time, I think it would be a great idea to upload several audio files regarding different aspects of ancient Rome, so children can create their own audio collection according to their preferences and interests. In that way, the would have the chance to create a “knowledge store” about this topic and finally, for example, sumarize all this customized information in a final work. These are just some ideas which come to my mind thanks to your choice of uploading the audio file, which offers a lot of possibilities. Kind regards,

    David F
